Excellence Engineered- Our Material Philosophy: Materials are the foundation of any great product—they are the difference between a tool that lasts and one that fails. We refused to compromise on our selections, sourcing only best-in-class grades to ensure every component meets the highest standards. By prioritizing optimal weight, refined tactility, and rugged durability, we’ve elevated the user experience through a truly premium materials architecture.

frictionless precision

Precision Motion – Shielded Stainless Steel Bearings: While many in the industry rely on “bearing surfaces”—essentially just plastic sliding against metal—we believe that true performance requires mechanical precision. To achieve the ultimate tribology (the science of wear and friction), we incorporate individual shielded stainless steel ball bearings into every WAND® motion point.

By moving away from simple friction-based bushings and upgrading to true rolling elements, we have virtually eliminated the “stiction” that plagues our competitors’ products. These bearings are shielded to protect the internal raceways from dust, debris, and moisture, ensuring that the smooth, effortless glide you feel on day one remains unchanged for years. This commitment to professional-grade hardware provides a tactile experience that is not only more responsive but significantly more durable than traditional friction surfaces.

permanent by design

Permanent Magnetic Force: Neodymium (N52): Precision and security in the WAND® system are driven by Neodymium, the world’s strongest permanent rare-earth magnet. We utilize high-grade N52 Neodymium, selected for its incredible power-to-weight ratio. This allows us to achieve maximum “pull force” within a compact footprint, ensuring that your gear remains locked in place exactly where it was engineered to stay.

Unlike standard ceramic or ferrite magnets that can lose their strength over time, Neodymium is built for a lifetime of performance. Our magnets are triple-plated with a protective coating of Nickel, Copper, and Nickel to prevent oxidation and ensure environmental resilience. When properly protected within our Lexan EXL 1414 housings, these magnets will lose less than 1% of their magnetic strength every 100 years, providing a permanent solution that never needs to be “recharged” or replaced.

DYNEEMA®

High-Performance Cordage:  Diameter doesn’t dictate strength; engineering does. While most brands settle for a 20% working load limit, we utilize Dyneema® to maintain best-in-class ratings within a compact profile. Unlike competitors who rely on knots or clips that weaken the line, we splice our cords to maintain 100% structural integrity and maximum break strength.

CORE MATERIALS

Precision Tactility:  We have partnered with global TPE manufacturing leader HEXPOL to engineer a proprietary blend of Dryflex Touch®, customized specifically for every user touchpoint across the WAND® ecosystem. This isn’t off-the-shelf material; it is a custom formulation designed to redefine the balance of softness and resilience.

With a Shore A rating of 30, our TPE sits in the “sweet spot” of tactility—offering a softness value perfectly calibrated between a gummy bear and a pencil eraser. This results in a velvety, premium feel that remains incredibly durable. Beyond the touch, we’ve ensured superior UV resistance, so the material maintains its integrity and high-end finish even after years of exposure to the elements.

Aerospace Foundations – 17-4 Steel & 6061 Aluminum: We believe the internal architecture of a product should be as refined as its exterior. For the high-stress mechanical cores of the WAND® system, we utilize 17-4 PH Stainless Steel, a specialized grade prized in the medical and aerospace industries for its extreme hardness and immunity to corrosion. By pairing this unyielding steel with 6061-T6 Aerospace-Grade Aluminum, we achieve a lightweight structural frame that offers maximum tensile strength without adding unnecessary bulk. This strategic combination of high-tempered metals ensures that every WAND® component remains structurally perfect through a lifetime of rigorous use, delivering a level of mechanical precision that standard materials simply cannot match.

The WAND® Chassis: Lexan™ EXL1414: We chose Lexan™ EXL1414 for our primary housings to provide a ballistic-grade shield for the WAND® internal architecture. Unlike standard plastics, this high-performance resin maintains its extreme impact resistance in temperatures ranging from desert heat to sub-zero freezes. Infused with Carbon Black for native UV stabilization, the chassis offers a permanent, deep-matte finish that resists weathering and chemical exposure. This is the structural foundation that allows our 17-4 steel and 6061 aluminum components to operate with surgical precision, regardless of how rugged the environment becomes.
